The Office of the Public Guardian helps people in England and Wales stay in control of decisions about their health and finances, and make important decisions for others who cannot decide for themselves. It is an executive agency sponsored by the Ministry of Justice.
OPG's functions include registering lasting powers of attorney and enduring powers of attorney, supervising court-appointed deputies who manage the affairs of people who lack mental capacity, and handling reports of concerns about the conduct of an attorney, deputy or guardian.
