Independent editorial summary — not the official statute text. Read the official version on legislation.gov.uk.

Section 14 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 allows a court to make a slavery and trafficking prevention order against a defendant when it deals with them in respect of a conviction for a slavery or human trafficking offence, a finding of not guilty by reason of insanity, or a finding that they are under a disability and did the act charged in respect of such an offence.

The court may only make the order if satisfied that there is a risk the defendant may commit a slavery or human trafficking offence, and that the order is necessary to protect persons generally, or particular persons, from the physical or psychological harm that would be likely to occur if the defendant committed such an offence.
