Section 27Q — Procedure for issue of code of practice

(1) [F1 If the Secretary of State proposes to issue a code of practice under this section the Secretary of State must—]
(a) [F1 consult ACAS;]
(b) [F1 publish a draft of the code of practice;]
(c) [F1 consider any representations made about the draft code of practice and modify the draft code of practice accordingly.]
(2) [F1 If the Secretary of State decides to proceed with the draft code of practice, the Secretary of State must—]
(a) [F1 lay it before both Houses of Parliament, and]
(b) [F1 if it is approved by resolution of each House, issue the code of practice in the form of the draft.]
(3) [F1 A code of practice issued under this section comes into effect on such day as the Secretary of State may by regulations appoint.]
