Section 4 — Duration

(1) [F1 A pavement licence may be granted by a local authority for such period as the authority may specify in the licence.]

(2) [F1 The period specified may not exceed two years.]

(3) Where a pavement licence is deemed to be granted under section 3(9) it is ... deemed to be granted for [F2 two years] starting with the first day after the determination period.

(5) The licence-holder may surrender a pavement licence at any time by giving notice to the local authority by which it is granted or deemed to be granted.

(6) A notice under subsection (5) must be made in writing and sent using electronic communications in such manner as the local authority may specify.
