This Order amends the Quality Meat Scotland Order 2008 (“ the 2008 Order ”) which establishes Quality Meat Scotland and which confers power on Quality Meat Scotland to impose levies on people who slaughter or export cattle, sheep, or pigs. The maximum rates of levy are specified in schedule 3 of the 2008 Order.
This Order comes into force on 22 December 2023.
Article 3 amends the maximum rate of producer levy.
Article 4 amends the maximum rate of slaughterer or exporter levy.
Article 5 states the purpose for which any levies are imposed, as required by paragraph 5(3) of schedule 10 of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006.
