This Order amends the standard conditions that apply to offenders sentenced to a determinate sentence of imprisonment and released on licence. Those conditions are set out in the Criminal Justice (Sentencing) (Licence Conditions) Order 2015, which specifies the licence conditions, and the types of licence conditions, to which an offender must be subject.
Article 2 amends article 1(2) inserting a definition for “supervising officer”.
Article 3 prescribes the standard licence conditions that apply to all determinate sentence prisoners following their release on licence. This includes a new standard condition requiring offenders to give details of any passports held and seek permission before applying for a new passport. The wording of the standard conditions has been updated to make them easier for offenders to understand.
